2. What to Expect on Delivery Day

Delivery Times

We are unable to provide exact time slots for deliveries. Deliveries typically take place between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

  • Whenever possible, we request that the courier calls you one hour in advance.
  • All deliveries require a signature.
  • Courier drivers may occasionally request an ID check upon arrival.

Pallet Sizes & Weights

To guarantee the safety and security of your stone, any order weighing more than 100 kg must be delivered on a pallet via a specialist carrier.

  • Half Size Pallet. Approx. 70 x 60 cm
  • Full Size Pallet. Approx. 70 x 120 cm

Weight Limit. Each individual pallet can hold a maximum load of 1000 kg. Orders exceeding this weight will arrive on two or more separate pallets.

Kerbside Delivery

For the vast majority of pallet shipments, our carriers exclusively provide a kerbside delivery.

  • This means the driver will drop the pallet at the nearest safe kerbside spot; they cannot always bring it up your driveway or to your front door.
  • Delivery drivers are not insured to enter your property, unpack the pallet, or handle individual tiles.
  • Stone boxes are heavy—some weigh up to 30 kg. Additionally, our delivery partners cannot dispose of the wooden pallets or packaging materials.

Recommendation. We strongly advise arranging for able-bodied assistance to safely move your goods into your property immediately upon delivery.

3. Accepting Your Delivery & Handling Damages

To ensure your order is correct and intact, please ensure a responsible adult is present at the delivery address to inspect, check, and sign for the goods.

  • Inspect the entire shipment for any visible signs of damage.
  • Check that all items on your delivery note are present.
  • Sign to accept the delivery.

What to do if items are damaged

While every order leaves our warehouse in perfect condition, accidental damage can occasionally occur during transit. If you notice or suspect any damage, you must take action within 24 hours of delivery:

Step 1. Write "DAMAGED" clearly on the driver's delivery note before signing.

Step 2. Take clear photographs of all damaged tiles while they are still on or near the pallet.

Step 3. Email your photos and order details to hello@gemloriastone.co.uk.

Sustainability Tip. Out of respect for the environment and to prevent waste, we advise keeping slightly damaged tiles and using them for the necessary cuts on your project.

Once we receive and review your email with the photos, we will quickly arrange free replacements or issue a credit for the value of the damaged stone. We cannot dispatch free replacements until proper photographic evidence has been received.

4. Order Management & Adjustments

Access Issues

If your delivery location has local access restrictions—such as exceptionally narrow lanes, active roadworks, low bridges, or road closures—please notify us well in advance. This allows us to coordinate a smaller delivery vehicle if necessary. If a smaller vehicle or a re-delivery is required because we weren't notified, an additional fee may apply.

Cancelling Your Order

If you need to revoke your order, please contact hello@gemloriastone.co.uk as soon as possible. Because we process and dispatch orders rapidly, a re-routing or re-delivery fee will apply if the shipment has already left our facility.

Changing Your Order

We can only modify quantities, delivery dates, or delivery addresses if you notify us within 2 hours of placing your order. Outside of this window, standard courier change or re-delivery fees will apply.

Late Deliveries

In very rare circumstances, external factors beyond our control (such as severe weather, major accidents, or extreme traffic congestion) can delay a delivery. We will always do our best to keep you informed.

Important Notice. We strongly advise against booking tradespeople, tilers, or contractors until your product has been fully delivered and inspected. Gemloria Stone Ltd cannot be held liable for any financial losses or labor costs resulting from a delayed delivery.

5. Can we store your stone for you?

Ready to secure your stone but your project isn't quite ready for it? We are happy to hold your order in our warehouse free of charge for up to two months. If you need us to hold your stock for longer than two months, a small monthly storage fee may apply.

For further details or to arrange storage, please contact hello@gemloriastone.co.uk.
